ALTRUISM  FORGOTTEN

In crisis, people abandon their usual good sense, presence of mind, resolution or integrity. There are many who believe in the doctrine that human action is not freely willed and that it is influenced by desires, physical conditions and other circumstances beyond the control of the individual. The inability to choose a course of action would negate the possibility of securing the gracious blessings of the Almighty.

When all’s well among friends, we are the best of cronies. Misunderstandings on frivolous matters push up the sour taste with every hiccup. All around, you see an imminent vomit of words which, if controlled, the new morn would be accessed easily. Otherwise, the bitter feelings will overpower every sane human being. Well — the situation still demands us to adopt a pleasing demeanour.

Neighbours are the best of pals as long as smiles are flashed. A time does come when the smiles are deleted to be replaced by frowns and that’s when the trouble shoots. The idiosyncrasies vary in every case. My neighbour, a very meticulous lady, keeps her home in a state beyond description. She sweeps her courtyard and of course the section of the road in front of her house. All this is done to incite the wrath of her neighbour as she genuinely piles the garbage right in front of his gates. A grand sight indeed to watch one stomping at the gates with ‘who dun it’ attitude and the other with a mission accomplished glow. Nobody wins and nobody loses.
